"A CITY IN CLOUDS" - DALHOUSIE, HIMACHAL PRADESH

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalhousie,_India

A beautiful small hill station in Himachal Pradesh.

Places to visit in and around Dalhousie:

1) Khajjiar - Also called "Mini Switzerland of India". View of place is really exotic but nothing much to do except spending time with family and friends. Paragliding can also be done but it is banned in that place as it is a wild life reserve. Still paragliding is done by people, i do not know how. I also did it and enjoyed a lot. But few precautions is necessary as it is very dangerous. Check the licence of the person who will fly you and confirm that he is a thorough professional and has the necessary qualification and flying experience to fly you as your enjoyment as well as your life will be at the mercy of his skills.

2) Chamera Lake - Beautiful location for boating and also speed boating. No crowd, clean and serene place to spend quality time with nature.

3) Visit Mall road at Gandhi Chowk in dalhousie, especially Tibetian market. A lot of bargaining can be done and small utility things as well as trendy clothes can be purchased from this market.

4) Subhash chowk - Barely half a kilometer from Gandhi Chowk, also a small market but not much to see except the Sher-e-punjab restaurant for its delicious food. One can get a very good view of valley with clouds floating all the time around this place. Nature lovers will love to spend time watching clouds fly by.

5) Panchpula - A small picnic spot with few activities to do like wrappling and trekking up the hill to a small waterfall. Nature lovers can escape the place and go up the hill to less crowded and cool hill away from the main spot and spend time with nature. All the necessary precautions must be taken when going alone up the hill.

6) Kalatop - A wildlife sanctuary on your way to khajjiar. Trekkers will love this place.
